One of the reasons for Erectile dysfunction is often poor blood flow, which becomes more apparent with age. It can also be a warning sign that you may be at risk of heart disease or a stroke. High-blood pressure, obesity and smoking increase your risk of both ED and cardiovascular disease.

Here is a list of fruits that naturally combat the symptoms of ED and may improve your blood circulation and help prevent heart disease..

Pomegranates

Pomegranates have been associated with improvements in ED in several studies. The reason being, pomegranates are packed full of antioxidants which have been found to enhance nitric oxide levels.

Nitric oxide is a naturally produced molecule that promotes blood flow throughout your vascular system. That makes it important for your physical functioning, including the ability to get and maintain an erection.

Research has found that nitric oxide plays a role in erectile function by relaxing the vascular muscle that supplies your penis with blood when you’re sexually aroused.

Grapes, Blueberries, Blackberries, Cherries and Raspberries.

All of these super fruits offer all six flavonoids! Flavonoids have been found to increase nitric oxide levels, and it’s flavonoids may benefit vascular health.

Oranges, Grapefruit, Tangerines, Lemons and Limes.

These tasty, tarty citrus fruits contain flavonoids, one of the six flavonoids that had a positive, helpful effect in an ED study.

Apples and pears.

More flavonoids! Apples and pears are full of flavonoids, and high in fibre. Don’t peel off the skin as it contains the most flavonoids. The darker redder or bluer apples contain more flavonoids than yellow or green ones.

Watermelon.

Watermelon has one of the best sources of l-citrulline available. Nature’s answer to Viagra, this refreshing fruit has a similar effect!

L-citrulline is an amino acid which benefits blood flow and vascular function, which are important parts of physical performance, sexual performance and health. Enjoy eating those succulent slices!

To potentially mitigate the risk of ED, eating at least three servings a week of any of the above fruits, could cut a man's risk of ED by 19 percent, according to a published study of more than 25,000 men.

Consider Less Alcohol

Studies on men’s health and sexual desire show that alcohol isn’t great for you. Alcohol-induced erectile dysfunction affects your central nervous system, sexual arousal and sexual performance.

Whatever you decide to try, it is highly advisable to avoid adding sugar, sugar derivatives, glucose, sucrose, corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, artificial colouring etc. Stick to whole foods; healthy and nourishing!
