By Sally Cross, Natural Change Coaching.

Today I am sharing with you how chronic stress can affect our digestive system..
Some of us may not recognise that we are in a state of chronic stress, as the symptoms we experience have become the norm!
Here we can look at some indicators…
Changes in appetite
Food cravings
Eating disorders
Gastro-intestinal problems:
Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease(GERD)
Gastritis
Ulcerative Colitis
Irritable Colon
Irritable Bowel Syndrome(IBS)
Dysbiosis (leaky gut)
Microbiome disruption
Nausea
Diarrhoea
Constipation
Stomach ache and cramps
Also there is some research indicating that a highly stressful event can trigger autoimmune conditions like Coeliac Disease and Non-Coeliac gluten sensitivity.
What can we consider to help alleviate stress?
Improve our life/work balance
Consider a Lifestyle check-in
