Studies have shown that there are many benefits to sleeping naked:
Body temperature regulation; by sleeping naked, our body is able to maintain a lower temperature more effectively, which improves our quality of sleep and reduces insomnia.
Physical Health; being cooler at night results in better metabolic health, heart health, improves blood circulation, reduces risk of infections, better hormone regulation, tissue repair and regeneration.
Mental Health; sleeping in cooler conditions can reduce our cortisol levels at night. By lowering these stress hormones, it reduces anxiety and stress. With reduced stress levels, we improve cognitive function and our mood.
Being confident in your skin..Initially we may feel vulnerable or awkward, but once we overcome this barrier, it can be really freeing and so much healthier all round!
Tips:
If this is not something you've tried before, take it step by step, removing one item at a time.
Have a folded sheet/blanket at the bottom of the bed, so that you can pull it over yourself as required.
Keep a dressing gown/bathrobe near for if you need to get up in the night..
